Memorial Day up north

May Fishing

A Pileated woodpecker visited while we were sitting on the deck. I was able to follow it across the road because of the racket it made. They are really big and really noisy.

Dave caught a 32 in. Northern on a minnow in the bay. Major slim!!

If you go out to the point with the 2 rocks be aware that the green float isn't in yet.

We had a great time fishing this weekend. Despite the weather at times we managed to catch our limit of Walleye and at least 20 Northern.

"Sitting Around"

Inlaw 2 & Outlaw 2 enjoyed "sitting" while the "kids" got away for the weekend to celebrate their anniversary at the Lodge at Crooked Lake where they got married.

2009 Darby Cottage Pre-Opening

Inlaw 2 & Outlaw 2 did a little Cottage opening and fishing May 9-11. Laura & Damon joined us for Saturday. Laura got a 19 incher and her mom a 26 incher. Grandma & Grandson both caught a walleye. I caught a crappie. We pulled in a few perch and other small northern also. Damon quickly learned how to fillet. He did 2 perch totally by himself as well as parts of other perch and northerns.

JJ stayed with us for a couple days and he was a real good boy. We took him to Bauman Park a couple times as well as around the neighborhood.Posing for the camera...

Day Trip to See Phoenix

Yesterday Jan and I went to Kalamazoo to see Phoenix. She is 4 months old now and is a really good puppy. Lisa tells us that Phoenix is a Diva because it looks like she uses mascara. She's just naturally cute!!

She loves to have her belly scratched. Duh!!

She loves her bone too!

Destination Imagination

Damon's Destination Imagination team took 2nd place at the regional competition today out of 10 teams in their division. That means they compete again at the state level in Stevens Point next month. If they get first or second there they go on to national. 2 years ago the team he was on got 3rd at state.

It's been a while...

I'm sorry for any and all delays and my laziness with my own blog...and I would have posted numerous pictures up constantly, but we got a virus on our computer, and as it finally crashed a week ago, I haven't had the time to get any of the old pictures (luckily burned onto CD's) back onto this computer just yet! Continuing Wolf River 2008 Christmas

Monday, Dec 15th, 2008.

Tonight Laura, Damon, & I scratched off the lottery tickets they had given me for Christmas on Dec. 13th.

One ticket was a $5 winner. One was a $10 winner . The 3rd one was a multi-winner of $5s, $10s, & $100s totaling $500. GRAND TOTAL $515. WHOO! WHOO!

Trip to SC

Hi Everyone. We left on Sunday and arrived on Monday night. It rained and snowed most of the way. Once we hit the South Carolina border the sun came out and the weathers been great.We stopped at a rest area and took a little stroll.
